Preventive and Family Dentistry in Golden

From routine dental cleanings and examinations, to preventive oral health care including digital x-rays, Golden Peak Dental is proud to provide high quality care to keep your mouth healthy, and your smile beautiful for years to come! Our goal to to help you address any oral health problems as early as possible, as preventing dental disease and treating it early is always better than intensive treatment to treat long standing disease.

Routine dental cleanings

We recommend a dental exam and prophylaxis (cleaning) every 6 months. Each visit includes a meeting with Dr. Visscher so you can address any oral health concerns you have. You can be assured we will do our best to keep your mouth and teeth healthy!

Scaling and root planing

When plaque and tartar builds on your teeth, it contributes to gum disease and other oral health problems. A thorough scaling removes this build-up from your teeth, and a deeper cleaning (root planing) can be performed for more serious buildup of tartar and calculus.

Flouride treatment

A flouride treatment at your preventive exam will help support healthy enamel for your teeth, and fights against bacteria that can harm your teeth and gums.

Digital x-rays

Dental x-rays allow your dental care team to get a full picture of your oral health and to diagnose problems that may not be visible to the naked eye, including abscessed teeth, tooth decay, and more. Golden Peak Dental uses state of the art digital x-ray technology which allows us to quickly get a detailed picture of your mouth while minimizing your exposure to radiation. Dental x-rays typically produce the same amount of radiation you would be exposed to during an average plane ride.

Mouthguards

We will create and fit mouthguards that can help protect your teeth and lips from injury. Talk with your dental team to determine if a mouthguard would be beneficial for you! We also fabricate custom mouthguards to treat disorders of the temporo-mandibular joint (TMJ).

How can you prepare for a dental exam?

Practicing good dental care at home is the best way to prepare for your examination. Before your appointment, please be sure to brush and clean your teeth to remove food and plaque which will aid our team in evaulating and cleaning your mouth, especially the harder to reach areas.
